This deck is about safely throwing Zeds at the opponent multiple times in a turn.
Early:
- Getting Greenglade Duo or Lucian paired with Navori Highwayman (or Senna with Lucian) are great starts to grab early nexus damage or early setups for rallies with Lucian levelup.
- Depending on the matchup, you might wait/bait before playing Lucian (ex: wait until you have a Brightsteel Protector when facing Piltover or Noxus due to their damage-based board control)
- If you get a Zed and Field Promotion, you can save mana on their attack before your first turn with 3 unit mana (therefore having 5 total mana), and play a Zed with scout at the end after they attack to open with the scout attack on your turn.
Midrange:
- Use multiple Zed attacks via scout, Lucian's rally, and Cataclysm to control the board and maximize pressure.
- Use barriers, Twin Disciplines, etc to protect Zed when attacking. Use Single Combat on Zed's shadow or other followers to cover Zed against blockers.
- Cards like Laurent Bladekeeper and especially Dawnspeakers (each turn you attack with Zed will give units +1/+1) help you scale up as your opponent does so quickattack strikes are still an option.
- Ren Shadowblade is cool, benefits from this setup like Zed does due to his quickattack, and so can create multiple 4/3 ephemerals per turn. He comes in clutch when removal has deleted Zed.
- Cool tip: Use Cataclysm on an ally with Scout (preferably Zed), and it essentially rallies.
You generally do need to close out the match before lategame when ramping decks start to shine, but this deck's midgame is pretty consistent.
Enjoy! I'd love to talk about it in the comments, too.
